連續性出版品 Serial

定義

A publication出版品 in any mediumissued in successive持續性的 parts bearing帶有numeric數字的 or chronological依時間先後的designations and intended to be continued indefinitely .Serials include periodicals; newspapers; annuals (reports, yearbooks, etc.); the journals, memories, proceedings會議記錄,transactions會報、會刊,etc., of societies; and numbered monographic series.

它的構成要素有三：
１. 以連續方式分批出版
２. 載有編號或年代日期
３. 意圖永遠繼續出版下去

有五種類型：
１. periodicals;期刊
２. newspapers;
３. annuals(reports, yearbook, etc.);年報
４. the journals, memories, proceedings, transactions, etc., of societies;
５. numbered monographic series.集叢

期刊 Periodicals

A kind of serial that has a distinctive title and that is issued more frequentyl than once a year (一年超過一期以上)and at regular intervals, with each issue containing articles by several contributors.(每一個都有很多文章,作者....)

Serial相反便是Monograph(單本)

著錄來源

非印刷性的連續性出版品，依相關章節規定：
１. 主要著錄來源為首期之書名頁，或(第一期的書名頁)(若找不到,要另找取代的)
２. title page of the first available issue;
３. 無書名頁的title page substitute係指: analytical title page, cover, caption, masthead, editorial pages, colophon(敍權頁), other pages.

卷期編次項：
繼續出版中，在卷期編次之後四格→表繼續出版，不再出版時，最後一期寫下稽核項：
繼續出版中，在冊數之前空三格(表持續中)，在附件之前亦空三格
